Joshua Johnson is the Founder and Director of Consulting at First Core Consulting, an independent advisory firm dedicated to supporting physicians and medical groups with their medical-surgical supply chains and business operations.

Joshua began his career in 2005 as an account manager with Physician Sales & Service (PSS), where he developed deep expertise in serving a wide range of healthcare providers. Following McKesson’s acquisition of PSS in 2013, he continued in the same capacity, gaining broad experience across large-scale distribution networks and institutional needs. In 2021, seeking greater autonomy and impact, he left McKesson to pursue a more direct and client-centric model of service. He founded First Core Consulting in 2023 with a clear mission: to deliver specialized, responsive, and cost-effective medical-surgical and business solutions to physicians and medical groups free from any corporate or vendor influence.

This independent structure enables a highly focused, precise, and effective approach—unconstrained by external agendas and tailored exclusively to each client’s needs. Joshua’s sole allegiance is to the physicians and practices he serves, ensuring unbiased guidance, strategic clarity, and measurable results.

Outside of his professional commitments, Joshua is a devoted husband and father who prioritizes time with his family…and his dog. An accomplished musician, he remains engaged with the evolving landscape of music and enjoys attending live performances, particularly in Austin’s vibrant music scene.
